Our audition based Performing Groups aim to build up, nurture and train dancers and musical theatre performers and to help them gain confidence, build relationships, and learn skills they will use in all facets of live. We also hope to instill and cultivate in each child a love of the arts that will hopefully continue after they leave our doors. Our groups will also have outreach opportunities to perform in the community and surrounding areas.
What are Performing Groups?
Performing Groups are for those that want more performance opportunities on stage and in the community. Steppin’ Out has two groups for our students to participate in-Musical Theatre Ensemble and Company. Both are auditioned base and have specific requirements for each age group.
Why join a Performing Group?
To grow as a performer and to develop better skills and technique, to gain confidence and learn to work in an ensemble group.
Where do Performing Groups perform?
Local events (festivals, parades etc.) in the surrounding areas. Some years there will be opportunities for larger scale trips and events.
MUSICAL THEATRE ENSEMBLE
Ages 6-8: Take One Jazz OR Acro class and One Rehearsal Class
Ages 8-12: One Ballet OR Jazz OR Acro class and One Rehearsal Class, highly recommend ONE Acting & Tap class
Ages 12-UP: One Jazz Class and One Rehearsal Class, highly recommend One Acting Class & one additional technique class of choice (Contemporary, Ballet, Acro, Conditioning, Tap Class)
Ages 7-17: Take two of the three classes: Jazz AND Acro or Ballet plus Rehearsal Class
*Rehearsal Classes are where Company and Ensemble members will rehearse their songs/pieces for upcoming events. Since these groups will be performing for the community they will need this additional rehearsal time. This rehearsal class is just as important as their technique classes.
